This table, designed by Milanese architect Rodolfo Dordoni, takes the name of
London’s Gatwick airport, one of the busiest in the world. A hub where cosmopolitan
travellers meet every hour of the day and night on their way in or out of the U.K.
capital, much like a table where people meet for dinner. It is the particular structure
of twisted and criss-cross steel recalling an airplane propeller or a helicopter blade
that inspired the name.
The aluminium frame in several contemporary finishes, such as black chrome and zinc, supports elegant rectangular or oval tops of different sizes enriched with wood or marble, selected from the Molteni&C collection. In particular, a rectangular version includes a system of extensions concealed within the top, a feature of numerous Molteni&C products that enables the number of places at table to be doubled in a matter of seconds.
