Philosophy
Expanded clay of the brand Liapor is produced in several European countries. The sale of the Expanded clay spheres featuring plenty of advantages is implemented all over Europe.
The Liapor factories in Pautzfeld near Forchheim/Upper Franconia and in Tuningen near Villingen-Schwenningen (Baden-Württemberg) mainly provide the German market with high-quality expanded clay by lorry, railway and ship. Furthermore, the only factory producing expanded clay in Austria, the Lias Österreich Ges mbH, also belongs to the Liapor Group. Considering the production site in Fehring near Graz the company is positioned excellently in the market of building material in Austria and increasingly supplies also south-eastern European countries like Hungary, Slovenia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Croatia with expanded clay. Besides the Liapor factory in Vintirov near Karlsbad (North Bohemia/Czech Republic) the Liapor Group disposes of a further production site in Thüringen.
Turning from the sphere to building material
The Liapor factories maintain their own laboratories and development departments that work together closely with each other and with test and research laboratories from lots of other sectors. The four producing Liapor factories do not only fabricate the basic material Liapor, but furthermore provide the know-how in order to process Liapor Expanded Clay to market-driven quality building materials. Concrete factories process the expanded clay to Liapor Blocks, Liapor Prefabricated Components, lightweight mortar and lightweight concrete.
Manifold use
Additionally, Liapor Expanded Clay disposes of further manifold possibilities of being applied: loose or bound Liapor Fillings are used in both new buildings and reconstruction. Moreover, considering the sector of civil engineering, they serve as insulating, levelling and drainage fillings. Liadrain is suitable for being used as a substrate for landscaped roofs and Liaflor is used in hydroponics. Liaperl has made its mark being carrier for the biological wastewater treatment. During the cold season broken Liapor is used as loose anti-skid bedding and this way wards off the danger of slipping quickly and safely.
Focus on ecology
Taking care of the environment is of top-ranking significance for the Liapor factories. Right from the start the careful and economical treatment of the natural sources of raw materials is taken into consideration. As a consequence of the extraordinary effective production method one reaches the fact that only one cubic metre of raw clay is necessary to produce five cubic metres of Liapor. The exhaust air of the process of burning is cleaned by most modern flue gas purification plants, and the renaturalisation of worked areas complies with the latest findings and regulations. Nature gets back its loan in an ecologically sensible way.
