Too late for sedate

Børge Mogensen wasn’t interested in sculptural shapes and experiments. He preferred historical furniture types that he then tweaked for the better. A very readable monograph presents the Danish designer.

It was in 1898 that the cabinet-maker Karl Andersson from Berghem started making furniture for his friends and neighbours on the shores of Lake Vättern. Today, more than a hundred years later, we continue to produce furniture that reflects the skill and precision of craftsmen. These days, however, our furniture is factory made in series that are sold worldwide.
Here are classic designs that we have been producing for decades, alongside totally new furniture in a variety of different idioms. But they all share one thing in common - they are Swedish classics of the highest quality, designed to survive generations of use and wear.
Working with renowned designers and using wood as our principal material, our ambition is to develop high-class furniture with a strong identity and a unique character that outlives fleeting trends.
