The Frankfurt-based Biegel company - run today by the second generation of the Biegel family - has been producing contemporary high quality jewellery for over 40 years. Besides bespoke pieces for private clients worldwide, the small Biegel team develops and produces exclusive „Prêt-a-Porter“-collections that are distributed via a hand-picked number of galleries in the major European cities. In cooperation with some of the most renowned European product designers, Marc-Jens Biegel launched his critically-acclaimed Bodysign collection in 2003, for which Shin & Tomoko Azumi (London), Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec (Paris), Prof. Uwe Fischer (Frankfurt), Konstantin Grcic (Munich), Prof. Axel Kufus (Berlin) und Prof. Hannes Wettstein (Zurich) designed body jewellery made of exclusive materials. Parts of the Bodysign product range can today be found in the most important European collections of applied art.

Biegel was founded in 1964 by Werner Biegel who came from the centre of German gemstone production, Idar Oberstein. After training as a goldsmith and finally achieving his master certificate, Werner Biegel worked – amongst other places – in Ulm and in Switzerland before founding his own workshop and sales outlet in the city centre of Frankfurt. Today the company is run by his son Marc-Jens and comprises a young team of four master goldsmiths and jewellery designers. All Biegel products and collections are created in-house. Traditional craftsmanship is combined with contemporary design and innovative product development. The predominant materials are gold, platinum, colourful gemstones, diamonds and pearls.
