Ligne Roset: KASHIMA by Michel Ducaroy
9/2/2024
Winner of the Premier prix du Concours Cinna 2018, Tasso is a family of decorative vases which revisits the process of wood lathing. Their uniqueness springs from the fact that they are composed of solid wood blocks, partially finished by hand. Two sections are therefore made: one is sculpted, turned and finely chiselled, whilst the other is left untreated, like a raw base, bearing witness to the object’s origins.
The Tasso vases, with their contrasting shapes, speak of the multiple possibilities offered by the material ‘wood’.
Each size is in a different finish:
– Large : solid walnut with black interior
– Medium: black ash with natural interior
– Small: black ash with black interior
Items are made from blocks of solid wood which are glued together and dried before the two sections (like the four quarters of an orange) are hollowed out and the interior is finished before the vases are finally assembled. Each piece is then hand-finished and packaged with care.
Important : the vases is decorative and should only be used with
dried arrangements. Made in Portugal.
