Ligne Roset 2024: KASHIMA
9/2/2024
His latest creation is the perfect illustration of this: its lines are clean, architectured, geometric and functional, clearly asserting a direct line of descent from Mies van der Rohe and then Florence Knoll (1954). Sixty years later, Didier Gomez successfully revisits this design icon by magnifying the comfort whilst reducing the dimensions (the large settee being 194 rather than 230 cm) and lightening the lines: the superb elegance of the slim sloping back panel which makes of it a piece which is just as attractive face-on as it is from behind; the seat cushions buttoned in 4 places with decorative cross-shaped stitching contrasting with the simplicity of the slim baguette stitched seat cushions. Finally, the customer will select one of two foot shapes and 2 finishes: matt black lacquer or brilliant chrome.
