Shading with Added Benefits

A Panorama is defined as a picture or photograph containing a wide view. This idea is reflected in the simple, yet sophisticated expression of the Panorama curtain. The textile offers a versatile design that splits in the middle where the direction of the satin weave changes. As a result, one side is matte while the other features a subtle shimmer. The two tone-on-tone block stripes run horizontally as the curtain is produced in floor-to-ceiling height.
Though unicoloured, Panorama’s stripes reveal different nuances as they reflect light differently, according to the direction of the weave. The palette comprises neutrals together with a handful of highlight notes.
Panorama, Diorama and Suite are elegant satin-woven curtains designed by Margrethe Odgaard. They explore the relationship between stripes, colours and bindings in an intriguing, individual way. Each side of the curtains offers a polarised mirror of the other. On one side, the weave has a subtle lustre; on the other, a more matte expression. Consequently, the designs are equally elegant and surprising whether seen from indoors or outdoors.
Margrethe Odgaard looked to classic architecture when creating the patterns for Panorama, Diorama and Suite. Specifically, she was inspired by wainscoting, which is wooden panelling installed on walls for functional and sometimes also decorative reasons.
Margrethe Odgaard: “When creating the collection, I did a lot of research into traditional interior architecture. During the baroque period in the 1700s, for instance, it was common to divide walls with profiled timber 1/3 from the floor and up. In contrast, French Modernism was characterised by extending the ceiling 1/3 down the wall. Depending on where the dividing line is set, it influences a person’s own reflection within a space and can be used to make a room look larger.”
Suitable for contract environments and private spaces,
Panorama, Diorama and Suite share a number of colours
and work particularly well together. The palettes for
the curtains incorporate rich natural colours, as well as
highlight tones.
