As a brand new sitting group introducing a different usage and perspective, Ikaros, with its wing shaped extensions stretching out from its back section and statue-like appearance, takes its place in the common use areas of offices, preferred by those who wish to make an impact at first sight. Transition between the functions, ‘work, rest and play' was taken as the basis in the design of Ikaros. While the person is able to sit facing the person next to them, he/she is also able to use all horizontal wings of the sofa as a service area. The user can put a coffee cup and a plate of cookies on the wings, whilst reading a newspaper, or take a few documents and read their files away from their desk. Since the wings at the back section are at desk height, by pulling up a chair, the wings of the sofa can be used as a small desk where you can use your laptop or read your books. This design, which enables multi-functional usage especially in waiting and reception areas, attracts attention with its leather upholstery or cachet style fabric upholstery versions.
