Created by Maltese designer Gordon Guillaumier, Comino is a new series of seats characterised by a classic allure combined with an expert use of the leather, where form and material are inextricably linked. With clear and witty reference to the proportion
s of the chairs of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, to the rational use of steel tubing typical of the Bauhaus, and to the interweaving of materials of Scandinavians like Aalto and Kjaerholm, Comino embodies the Frag experience by optimising both the potential
of leather and the talent of Guillaumier to reinterpret tradition with a refreshing jolt of modernity. The full-grain leather with double finishing is cut into simple mono- and bichromatic straps stretched across the steel rod frame. Taking inspiration
from haute-couture, the straps of the panels are woven with the warp and the weft of the seat, giving it superior strength and ensuring durability.
