UpTown is a lamp with an assertive presence, of great impact. A combination of three plate glass volumes (non sono sicuro sia giusto, ma non so come tradurre), io direi glass sheet, ma il traduttore di Google dice glass plate) with screen printing in tones of yellow, primary red and blue, overlaid to give rise to new shadings. A lamp-sculpture with charisma, breaking away from conventions.
Transparency is the guiding driving factor behind every step of the design, like the 45° cut that makes the meeting point of the glass panes imperceptible. What cannot be seen, what seems not to be there, has been intentionally concealed: what remains is an impression of simplicity that makes an object of great complexity become very immediate.
Already striking when it is off, UpTown becomes the absolute protagonist of any space when it is on. The light source is hidden in the base: when the lamp lights up the panels are filled with colour, and the glow is projected upward.
