With its new wall relief “Landing,” office furnishing specialist Wilkhahn has launched a modular system on the market designed to create places to lean against and spend time in hitherto awkward corridor spaces and access zones in office buildings. These communication islands are intended to nurture internal, chance communication among staff and thus promote the exchange of ideas and cohesion within the company.
The “Landing” wall relief was developed by the design studio RSW and consists of two different basic modules, each measuring 60 x 60 centimeters. Both variants are padded and feature textile coverings. One type is flat, the other has a protruding relief element, forming a small ledge of sorts. Depending on how it is mounted, this curved element can be used as a perch, shelf, standing support or privacy screen. Both models have excellent acoustic properties thanks to the foam padding and as such noticeably improve the acoustics in the space. There is a choice of six standard colors, with additional colors and upholstery fabrics available on request.
