“Working seated” has long since become the rule in today’s world of work. Sadly, people are not really made for spending all day long as good as immobile on chairs. The lack of movement has severe consequences for our health – be it back pain, diabetes or even serious heart diseases. For some time now we have known that alternating between working seated and standing up can help alleviate things. Work stations with electrically adjustable table heights lay the basis for this.
With its new DPG line, Linak has now launched an operating element to enable the height of standing/sitting tables to be adjusted – developed by the company in close collaboration with experts for behavior design. The underlying idea: to make alternating between phases standing up and those sitting down an integrated part of everyday working life as naturally as possible. One key here is the system’s connectivity, which allows for trailblazing functions: Via Bluetooth you, the user, can connect your smartphone or computer to the control unit. And then you can use the relevant device to set the height you want. And not only the height can then be adjusted, as the newly designed app also enables you to program in your own special intervals for periods working standing and those spent sitting. At the relevant point in time, you then get reminded that it is time to change your working posture. Instead of using a button you can then simply adjust the table-top height by pulling up or pressing down the entire operating element.
