The architect Carlo Colombo has given life to the latest collection "INTRECCI", a complete set of outdoor furniture designed for Emu. He has interpreted the classic metal weaving, which has always been the highest expression of the company's technological
experience, with originality.
Behind this choice is an original and highly personal design concept: "not classic and flat, but fun and exciting, able to capture attention; something which is simultaneously simple and complicated, made of particular a
nd incisive details".
Colombo's creative spark developed from a simple wooden crate, and then focused on the magnification of the weave of fabric. This instinctively led him back to the weaving work of natural fibres by grand masters, from designs of t
he past. The metal weave from which the whole concept of the ambitious design is derived, comes precisely from his ironic interpretation of a glorious past.
