Uwe Fischer studied design at the Offenbach Academy of Art and
Design and was co-founder of Ginbande Design in 1985. Over a period of
ten years a number of conceptual works were created, followed by
exhibitions in Germany and abroad. Between 1994 and 2001, Fischer was
Head of the Department of Architecture/Design at the State Academy of
Fine Arts in Nuremberg. Since 2001 he has been the Professor of
Industrial Design at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart.
In his design office in Frankfurt am Main he works primarily on
projects motivated by interest in and curiosity about fundamental issues
concerning design and architecture.
Projects including the planning of the information carriers for the
passenger guidance system at Frankfurt Airport, framework development
planning for Messe Frankfurt and an information system for Ciba/Basel.
Exhibition designs for clients including the German Architecture Museum,
the German Design Council, the German Postal Museum, MAK - Frankfurt.
Product developments for B&B Italia, Serien lighting, Wogg AG,
Schweiz, MGlass, Portugal, etc.
