Studio Habits was founded in 2004 by Innocenzo Rifino and Diego Rossi, following a few years’ independent professional experience: Japan, robotics, lighting, interaction design. From these come the first products designed for Luceplan, a company of international renown in the field of lighting design: Zeno (pendant lamp was awarded an honorable mention at Compasso d’Oro 2004, Agave, Supergiù (pendant lamp, winner of the Design Plus 2006). In the same period the studio designed Uma, a kitchen scale for Casa Bugatti, a brand that over the years and has become one of the leading global innovators in kitchen accessories and small appliances design. Studio Habits is based on a new entrepreneurial idea, Elements of Luceplan with the design definition of a new corporate reality, a project/company that requires thought creation that is structured, systematic and capable of reaching beyond the product, designing the image, the buying experience, the contract. This approach becomes the main aspect of the studio’s expressive personality: multidimensional design repeated over time. The latest example of this design is Digital Habits, enterprise program for the Open Source Design, the Digital Manufacturing, Natural Interfaces (www.digitalhabits.it). The first products, edited in 2013, get great reverb mainly on international media and a good appreciation from the audience: Open Mirror, OSound, PACO (RedDot2014 winner) and followed, in 2014, by Cromatica and Dragon. From the projects of light coming initial awards. Afterwards there are other types of award-winning products: the honorable mention at Compasso d’Oro 2004 for the suspension lamp Zeno; four Design Plus (Zeno 2002 pendant lamp, lamp suspension Supergiù 2006, E04 pendant lamp 2008,, notebook for notes Quattrogiga, 2012, two Red Dot (E04 pendant lamp 2008, keypad intercom outdoor SENSE 316 2013, bluetooth speaker P.A.C.O. 2014, home gestural control keyboard ONE 2014). Then the experiences increase in different areas, complexity and internationalization. In 2011 Habits starts cooperating with Panasonic for audio and video products. Today, the works of Studio Habits are focused largely on illumination, household goods, electrical appliances, electronics; these are integrated with the company’s activities of corporate identity definition, visual and interaction design, interior architecture and layouts. The studio holds two patents of invention and one patent of use. Main offices are in Europe (with studies in Milan and Rovereto), Middle East (with a studio in Istanbul and one in Teheran) and the Far East (Hong Kong).
