Johanna Eliason

Johanna was born in 1978 and grew up outside Göteborg. Her education is in Design and Interior Architecture from the Lorenzo de´Medici School in Florence and the HDK School of Design and Crafts at Göteborg University. Today Johanna runs her own business and works conceptually on everything from product development to designing furniture and houses. Johanna is driven by the huge variation the design profession offers, with each project being unique. To her, care and precision are important, both in design and craftsmanship. The Kalvi lounge chair was designed by Johanna together with fellow-student Ulrika E. Engberg, especially for Karl Andersson & Söner for 2008. The idea was to make a modern lounge chair that dares to take space. The wedge shape together with its "calf-like" quality makes it a cheeky individual in the range.
