Back in the day, Ferdinand Kramer designed a handbag for his wife Lore and produced it himself. Now the label Tsatsas, together with Lore Kramer, has issued a reedition of this modern piece.

It all comes back to Ferdinand Kramer. With the exhibition “Line Form Function”, Frankfurt’s Deutsches Architekturmuseum is presenting a show that is really worth seeing on Kramer’s architectural legacy. At the same time, the City of Frankfurt looks set to abandon this legacy and have the buildings torn down in the near future.

Deutsches Architekturmuseum in Frankfurt/Main is celebrating one of the city’s most famous architects – the exhibition “Line Form Function” shows the comprehensive oeuvre of Ferdinand Kramer.

Rest, nap, read or let your thoughts wander during the day – on a daybed. Be it an upmarket modern version, a narrow bench, a chaise longue or a new wave – they all look great.

Australian cosmetics brand Aesop’s concept centers on a mix of global and local elements for the interior design of its stores. In Frankfurt, it was Philipp Mainzer who designed the store.

At this year’s imm cologne the “Featured Editions” exhibition, created in collaboration with Stylepark, formed an integral component of the new “Pure Editions” hall concept used to strengthen the trade fair’s position within the high-end segment, a concept that proved to be an instant success. Ten platforms dotted throughout the hall formed the basis of presentations by selected exhibitors. We documented a number of them on film and in interviews with the creative minds behind them.

The imm Cologne is swiftly getting back on an even keel. And how are designers and manufacturers making use of the opportunity? A tour of the trade fair shows that they often resorted to the tried-and-true, reanimating and dressing it up for contemporary use. Even Konstantin Grcic opted for a tongue-in-cheek approach to a design classic.

Architect Ferdinand Kramer not only made his name with modern, unadorned buildings and urban planning, but also, throughout his life, designed furniture whose formal vocabulary was clear and functional. At the Salone des Mobile in Milan e15 is showing a re-edition of Kramer's furniture, featuring eight of his designs.
