Particule Elémentaire is an installation designed by Matali Crasset to represent Danese at the sixth edition of Triennale Design Museum in Milan. The objective is to give interpretation to all those concepts in which Danese’s has based its contemporary de
sign philosophy and that best represent its DNA: simplicity, care for men and the environment, material innovations, technological and gender research, perceptual and sensory properties.
With a simple gesture, it encompasses a whole scenario. The
shape is reminiscent of a human profile and it is contextualized in the installation in relationship with similar elements in order to emphasize the interactions among men, space, light and objects. The profile is sustained and illuminated by a simple el
ement. This has been studied in detail to generate the correct light while keeping waste to a minimum and to achieve the best results in terms of environmental quality. The light that is reflected on the white body partly shows a slight texture.
T
he tape that makes the volume of the figure is in Tyvec. When this material is illuminated, it shows the interweaving of polyethylene fibers that compose it. This material is a non-woven fabric that is usually used for packaging in construction. It is str
onger than paper, more versatile than fabric, resistant, impermeable and completely recyclable. It also comes in a printed version with the drawing of a human profile. Particule Elémentaire is present in space but it´s elementary, nonintrusive in its form
al simplicity, yet able to transform the perception of space with its diffused light, warm and welcoming.
