Ready for some splendid isolation? The Avalanche sofa range represents new developments in interior design, living more in zones than in defined spaces, as both a centrepiece and an invitation to be transformed again and again – according to the situational needs of its owners. Sitting upright, having conversations, leaning back comfortably or stretching out for a prolonged period to read or relax - comfortable possible uses that the Metrica designers had in mind for Avalanche: „A more than beautiful sofa, voluminous with an elegant silhouette, the technical refinements remaining invisible,“ explains Robin Rizzini. The open-base furniture combines lavish upholstered surfaces with a delicately upholstered frame and rests on a solid substructure that is light in appearance. Avalanche sofas are available in widths from 175 to 235 cm with a seat depth of 100 cm.

The slightly hollowed backrest upholstery is additionally reinforced in the lumbar area and can be tilted and raised effortlessly. In the high-back position, Avalanche provides comfortable, gently reclined seating with additional support for the head and shoulder areas while gently shielding its owner from the outside world. Swivelling, delicately worked solid wood serves as a shelf or tray, even as a backrest; those wishing to assume a horizontal position simply change the angle of inclination. Now add a cushion and the sofa becomes a daybed, with the head and shoulder areas receiving additional support. Various loose cushions and upholstery rolls in individual groups, a beautifully shaped stool or pouf increase comfort in any desired sitting or reclining position. As a special easy chair model for people who like to be close to one another, the „Love Chair“ surprises with a width of 105 cm. It looks equally impressive on its own as a favourite spot for contemplation. Naturally, both can also be enjoyed in the smaller easy chair version.
