Two long pieces for back legs, another pair for the front, and another six for cross and seat rails. All of it out of a 4.4 meter long piece of wood. What more do you need for a sturdy and comfy café seating?
Momang takes as its inspiration two former chairs by Johan Lindau. Gutang is still used in Swedish restaurants, while the first version of Momang thrives in many cafés. Johan Lindau offers improved comfort and a timeless graphic expression two decades later, with plaited webbing as a seat. The ascetic retro is strikingly pronounced with a sturdy and thick expression seen sidewise, and thin and slender seen from the front.
