The end of the traditional light bulb clobbered the luminaire industry, which is slowly recovering. At the Euroluce in Milan the clear trend was an effort to harmonize design and technology again.

Emerging from an electrical mist, Philippe Starck has transformed the design codes of the Harcourt crystal glass, turning it upside down to create a bold, multi-faceted ceiling lamp. Thumbing its nose at the original use, that Harcourt glass is subjected to various reversals: acting on a whim, Starck turned it topsy-turvy and gave it a metallic finish, creating a magnificent ceiling lamp. Its name "Hic!", also reflects an urge to shake up design codes at Baccarat. The abuse of Harcourt designs is good for one's health... they may be safely consumed without moderation!-
