At Heimtextil and imm cologne’s “Pure Textiles” wallpaper suppliers and textile editors are celebrating a gleaming metallic look, 3D structures and all manner of technical features. We present the top ten highlights of the two fairs.

For quite some time, manufacturers of decorative luminaires were hard hit by the innovation of LEDs. What to do with their traditional designs that were built around lamps and spots? They have since overcome the future shock and the industry is now fielding new products in all shapes and sizes.

Whether it is curtains, wallpaper or floor coverings - Frankfurt's "Heimtextil" trade fair is the perfect venue to explore the fundamental ingredients of interior design. Some of the wallpaper manufacturers' presentations were particularly impressive. And we even spotted a number of technological innovations among the umpteen books of specimens with their colorful ornaments.

Despite the difficult economic situation, the world's leading textiles trade fair, the Heimtextil in Frankfurt, held steady this year. The focus was less on spectacular innovations and more on strengthening the core business, with a few exceptions, of course.
