The inspiration for Cheval came from a weave made from horsehair, or more specifically from hair from the horse’s tail. These hairs are very strong and virtually indestructible. In the 17th century horsehair weaves were used for upholstering the sea
ts of stagecoaches and were first put into use as decorative fabrics during the reign of Napoleon III.
The wallcovering is made in a subtly embossed vinyl. The plains in these collections comprise a range of 23 splendid colour ways and are com
plemented by a classic stripe and a large contemporary chequered motif.
