Alberto and Francesco Meda design hub for Alias, the collection that in its rigorous design interprets a typology of modular system that is fixed to the wall. A project that allows you to create sophisticated solutions ideal for contemporary living room, but also suitable for hospitality spaces. Exploring the living area, hub becomes the fulcrum capable of gathering the different functions of the living room: the proposed configurations, bookcase, sideboard and open wall units, satisfy the most varied needs. Hub is an articulate and essential system that develops around the relationship of three elements: vertical elements in extruded aluminium, elegant and slender wooden shelves, and panels that make it possible to create full and empty spaces within the configuration. The shelves are fastened to the vertical elements through a system of aluminium joints, connecting elements that have been designed with incredible attention to detail. The extruded elements are fixed to the wall thanks to a system of invisible hooks. The vertical elements are available in two versions: the first one rests on the floor, it is equipped with an adjustable foot to unload part of the weight off and it is available in four heights (550, 845, 1890 and 2560 mm); the second is a suspended version, which can be fixed to the wall and is available in two heights (400 and 615 mm). The shelves are made of veneered plywood and are available in two depths (280 mm and 380 mm). They are elegantly shaped and include a milling to let the front panels slide, thus highlighting some spaces and hiding others to create a story of full and empty spaces by means of the objects on display and those concealed. The finishes - lacquer in neutral tones combined with natural woods, including oak, bleached oak, ash grey oak and dark stained oak - lend elegance to all the configurations. Hub enriches Alias offer with a wall system, with which it is possible to create different compositions, real furnishing solutions that meet the different needs of the living room: capacious bookcases, practical sideboards and light open wall units extend the different functional possibilities of the living room."
