Biographie

Born in Padua in 1937, Antonio Zambusi took his degree in architecture in Venice in 1962. He has been a member of the Order of Architects in Padua since 1963. Zambusi specializes in restoration, new construction, furniture, industrial design and furniture for public use.

He is a critical contributor on the subject of contemporary architecture, writing articles for various magazines, giving lectures, and tin charge of public relations for the Order of Architects in Padua, besides a variety of other cultural associations.
Zambusi teaches contemporary architecture (both as a resident and a visiting professor) for the graduate course of construction engineering at the faculty of Engineering of the University of Padua.

He regularly participates in national and international competitions.
Until 1990, Zambusi worked with Boccato and Gigante on industrial design projects. He continues to collaborate with Italy’s foremost design manufacturers: Omfa, Zerbetto, Sicart, Seccose, BBB, Luci Italia, Ca’Onorai, Caloi, Crivellari, Sacma, Ultom, Gammatre and Goccia.

His design and architecture has been published and discussed in the foremost national and international magazines, and in Omnibook issues 2 and 4.
Projects of his were displayed at the “Italy, the New Domestic Landscape” exhibition held in New York, at the 1970 Venice Biennale (decorative arts section), and at Chicago’s Museum of Contemporary Art
(1982). Zambusi was awarded the 1969 Premio Andrea Palladio Vicenza and the 1966 Premio Macef.
His Lapis table and Pertica bookcase, produced by Seccose, were shortlisted for the 1989 Compasso d’Oro (ADI).
