Cartoons creates a spacial division that is baroque and minimalist at the same time. The idea of the screen is a sublime mystification: a wall that is not a wall. Corrugated cardboard, a humble but reliable material is presented in a very refined technolo
gy. Two sheets of cardboard, positioned side by side, ensure the maximum ease in rolling and unrolling the screen, and are couplet to a free-standing structure.
In 1994 Cartoons was awarded the "Compasso d´Oro" prize.
Since 2001, Cartoons is
part of the permanent collection of MoMA New York.
